These variations effect the elasticity, strength, weight and colour.
Applications
1ply
(singles):
Knitting, weaving. less structural strength but more softness and more pilling.
2ply:
Weaving, knitting (for lace patterns with less stitch definition)
3,4 & 6ply:
Knitting (perfect for cable patterns) for weaving with more texture. Cord and rope when spun and plied with more twist.
